Welcome!
My name is Annika Horne and I am a filmmaker, actor, and singer from Texas living in New York City.
My short documentary FLYING IN THE DARK was an official selection of the Austin Film Festival and Brooklyn Film Festival and received the Austin Film Society grant. The film uses lively animation and firsthand accounts to tell the story of women in aviation, from World War II to the present.
I grew up singing country music in Texas and had the amazing opportunity to open for Wynona Judd and perform at venues throughout the country. In New York, I perform regularly as a jazz vocalist and singer songwriter at venues across the city.
In September of 2023, my film "Summer at Knitty City" was the Grand Prize Winner of the Shops of New York Film Festival.
I am currently in post production on a documentary about the multifaith chapels at the JFK airport, which was supported by the Inwood Filmmaker Fund.
My next film project is an animated dramatization of a year in the life of a USO artist who left her home in Brooklyn at the age of 22 to capture portraits of more than a thousand soldiers in Europe in 1945.
I am a trained actor and won a Young Artist Award for a guest starring role in the series Army Wives.
