ANNIKA HORNE: FILMMAKER AND MUSICIAN
Welcome!
My name is Annika Horne and I am a filmmaker and singer songwriter from Texas, based in New York City.

My films weave together journalism and history. I’m currently working on The Vanishing Point, an investigative series about how funding cuts are reshaping American science, featuring interviews with researchers at NASA, NOAA, and NIH-supported labs. I am publishing these as I make them, both on my own YouTube Channel and also through partners like Crafty Shorts films and the IFC Center.

My films have received accolades and funding from the Austin Film Festival, Austin Film Society, Brooklyn Film Festival, and Inwood Art Works in Manhattan. I work as the festival coordinator for DOC NYC, America's largest documentary film festival.

I grew up singing country music in Texas, where I had the chance to open for Wynonna Judd and perform across the country. These days, I perform regularly in New York as a jazz vocalist and singer-songwriter.
